The Planning Authority of Ireland is responsible for co-ordinating all the planning activities that must be completed in order to erect a structure in Ireland. They ensure that a structure complies with all the statutory regulations with regard to building in Ireland.
All structures that have successfully been granted planning permission are subject to the Irish Building
Regulations and the GoodWood Solutions' Construction Teams meet or exceed the
requirements of these regulations.
The planning submission must be made to the local Planning Authorities,
usually in your County Council. GoodWood Solutions can provide you with plenty of information
about the Planning Application Process and our knowledge of the planning laws and building legislation means that we can provide a faster and more successful route to securing planning permission for your log home.
We recommend that you meet with your Planning Officer before starting the
design of your home. This will ensure that your site is suitable for
building on and that you understand any design restrictions that may apply in
your area.
If you are applying for planning permission for a house which is not
connecting to a public sewer and where a septic tank or other treatment system
is being proposed then you are required to have the site tested for its
suitablity by the Health Board. Some special holes (a trial hole, a T test
hole and a P test hole) have to be dug on your site your site before the
Environmental Health Officer comes to perform the tests.
