Drawbacks - What are the drawbacks of living in a log home?
You have read of many of the benefits of log home living and, in the interests of balance, some drawbacks should be highlighted.

Log homeowners find that they have an increased number of known and unknown visitors. Family and friends tend to visit more frequently and spend longer in log homes because the sense of well being it evokes. Strangers often stop to admire the form and structure of the home and can tend to knock on the door asking for a look around. One prospective customer saw one of our homes under construction while flying overhead and spent three days searching for the house by car later!

Log homeowners can become so comfortable in their homes that they become reclusive and drop out of society. At the other extreme, they can become so enthusiastic about their home that they never shut up about it.
